Al Dente
Al Dente
The area around where Usishkin Street meets Bezalel Street, the seam
line between the neighborhoods of Nachlaot and Rechavia, hosts several
charming cafes and restaurants catering to the neighborhoods' eclectic
denizens. Included in that number is Al Dente, a tiny and cozy Italian
restaurant/cafe tucked into a house-like building in a nook of Usishkin
between a lock-and-key store and the parking lot of the Gerard Behar
Cultural Center. You'd almost miss it if you didn't know it was there,
and that would be a shame.
Al Dente specializes in kosher dairy
Italian cuisine, which means you'll be presented with a standard
selection of salads, spaghettis, fettucines, lasagnas, focaccias,
pizzas and other mainstays of the Italian culinary experience. And
since Al Dente doubles as a cafe, you also have you choice of coffees
and other hot beverages, which you can enjoy sitting in the comfortable
interior or outside on the porch.
