About

Even though it runs right into busy King George Street, one of the main thoroughfares of downtown Jerusalem, HaMa'alot street is an oasis of sylvan calm. Tucked away beneath the boughs of HaMa'alot's trees, Link makes the most of its placid, sun-dappled location. By day, the restaurant is part cafe, part cosmopolitan bistro - at night, the cafe aspect yields to the bar as Link transforms into a hopping spot for late-night meals and meet-ups.

And should you wish to rub elbows with Jerusalem's creative types, Link, as its name somewhat implies, serves as a meeting place and lunch spot for TV personalities, journalists, the odd film crew in town and other general media workers.

If the weather is nice, and between April and October it always is, find a table in Link's outdoor garden courtyard for true Jerusalem ambiance. The expansive menu is a bit hard to pin down - like an increasing number of Jerusalem restaurants, it's a chef-driven affair that highlights Jerusalem's abundance of local and seasonal goods, and it draws its inspirations both from local flavors and the bistro culture of Western Europe. The main courses feature plenty of steak, as well as burgers, kebabs and grilled fish. Other delights include a lineup of something akin to tortilla wraps, only using thin Druze pitas in place of that familiar Mexican flatbread.

Link is also open on Shabbat (both Friday and Saturday), making it a perfect choice for both a Friday night dinner and a pleasant Saturday spent lounging in the courtyard with a cappuccino.
