The Tower of David Museum has added new tours in English to its regular repertoire enabling English speaking visitors to explore the Tower of David in greater detail!
WEDNESDAYS at 10:30. Guided tour in English of the temporary exhibition The Camera Man: Women and Men photograph Jerusalem 1900 - 1950
For the first time, there will be regular tours every Wednesday morning at 10:30 of the exhibition “The Camera Man: Women and Men Photograph Jerusalem 1900-1950”.
The price in included in the entrance fee and there is no need to reserve in advance.
The exhibition “The Camera Man – Women and Men Photograph Jerusalem 1900-1950 takes an original look at this complex and fascinating city and gives you an intimate glimpse into life in the city at the first half of the 20th century. The exhibition highlights the unique and complex human and cultural heritage of the city and for the first time offers a complete look at the photographic work in Jerusalem of Christians, Jews and Muslims between the years 1900- 1950.
SUNDAY – THURSDAY at 11:00. Guided tour in English of the Permanent Exhibition of the History of Jerusalem Explore the history of Jerusalem as you walk through the city’s timeline in and out of the Ottoman built guard rooms in Jerusalem’s citadel discovering over 3000 years of history in a guided tour in English of the permanent exhibition of the Tower of David Museum. Price included in the entrance fee.
FRIDAYS at 10:00. From Herod's Palace to British Prison - A guided tour in English of the Citadel Moat and the Kishle Excavations A guided tour of both the Citadel moat and the" Kishle", one of the most fascinating hidden spaces in the Tower of David Museum compound - an underground space that spans the history of Jerusalem. During the archaeological excavations that took place there over the last decade a "timeline" of Jerusalem was discovered from finds from the First Temple Period, the remains of Herod's palace and tanneries and dying pools from the Middle Ages up until the walls of Suleiman the Magnificent and prison etchings on the wall of the British Mandate prison. Duration: Two hours Fridays at 10:00 The tour is an additional 5 NIS on top of the regular entrance price to the Museum.
