Tower of David Museum, Jerusalem. Thursday, July 9, 2015 at 20: 30-03: 00

The ancient Jerusalem citadel walls will become the backdrop for the most cutting edge of art and design in a student and post-graduate art show from all the art and design school in Jerusalem showing the hottest, freshest and newest pieces of art.

More than half of the students in Art and Design in Israel are studying at 14 institutions and schools in Jerusalem and they will present together for the first time a special gala evening work and create a new experience for all at the Tower of David. Art, music, theater, video art, performance art, architecture, photography, design, animation, dance, poetry and workshops will all be housed under one roof … and in this particular case … the one roof is the open skies as the citadel courtyard and moat become the exhibition rooms.

The participants are from Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, Hadassah College, Academy of Music and Dance, Musrara School of Arts, the Nissan Nativ Acting Studio, School of Visual Theater, the Sam Spiegel School of Film and Television, Eastern Music Center, ORT Nostradamus, Art Cube Graduate School, College and School of Painting Hirschberg.

Among the works will be Hamutal Wachtel (Hadassah College) showing a spmartphone photographic exhibition documenting wanderings in the city, Amontia and Chen Shilat from the Music and Dance Academy show their dance work “Your It”, the Prizma Ensemble perform “Contact” and AViel Golan from Bezalel shows the work “Stop Motion” whilst Nadav Ariel from Musrara exhibits a photographic exhibition that looks at the subject-object relationship.  Dina Silberg from the Sam Spiegel School of Film shows “Love Bag” and Tali Bakshi looks at reviving the Hebrew language and its use. Yael Salome shows a video performance with four different sound tracks.

The night will also be filled with the sounds of The Angelcy as well Echo and Tito taking to the main stage with Balkan and Greek music, Boom Pam with acoustic and popular music, rock and roll and blues followed by Shevet Zion with a reggae combination mixed with a Balkan beat, Malox showing the crowd hip-hop and dub jiving with a Mediterranean sound as well as an additional ensemble performing songs from the east.

From the tops of towers and surrounded by the walls of the city, there will be smartphone art photography workshops, meditation headphone workshops, contact workshops and artists on site.

The event is an initiative of young Authority and the Jerusalem Municipality with the participation of the Tower of David and the “Ir Academia”.
