A mishmash of Hebrew words that indicates loads of cultural offerings at little or no cost taking place on four weekends in Jerusalem, "Hamshushalaim" kicks off its seventh season in December 2011: December 1-3, 8-10, 15-17, and 22-24, 2011.


This years events offer something for everyone, including hundreds of events at cultural venues and tourist destinations all over Jerusalem, dozens of outdoor and indoor shows, performances, street theatre, attractions, and special deals at restaurants and hotels.


Hamshushalaim 2011 at the Bloomfield Science Museum


On December 1, the Bloomfield Science Museum invites you to the grand opening of three new exhibits (click on an exhibit name for more details): "Transparent Light," with moderator Professor Ezri Terzi, "Is Water the Model?," with moderators Eran Lederman and Dov Ginshrow, and "BioScapes." The grand opening events will take place between 20:30 and 21:00.


On Thursdays, December 1, 8, and 15, in the context of Hamshushalaim, the museum will be open free of charge from 21:00-1:00, and host a variety of exciting events:


Twisty: a conversation with a virtual personality that will make you think twice about your original opinion on issues regarding women and science.


Test yourself: a game of hidden associations


TV stations: watch interviews with 42 scientists from about the world via new technologies


Guided tours of the museum, focusing on women's discoveries.


Speed dating: 5 minute meetings on young women scientists and researchers. From 21:30-22:30


"How many women scientists does it take to make a cup of coffee": Thought provoking stand up comedy with the members of "Slaughtering the Cow" from 22:30-23:30. Entrance: 10 NIS.
