Lavan, located in the Jerusalem Cinematheque, celebrates Summer 2011 with its brand new menu with a special Italian - Mediterranean flair, showcasing food made from the freshest of ingredients. Combined with the restaurant's warm and inviting interior, the intoxicating scenery and outdoor terrace overlooking the Old City is quite a bonus.

Created by chef Sagi Azoulai with Michael Katz (of Adom and Colony), the new menu includes a rich variety of vegetarian dishes, fish, and meat. The additions include a delicious selection of appetizers: roasted eggplant drizzled with a Buffalo yogurt dressing and topped with tachina, feta cheese, tomatoes and radishes; feta cheese with Calvados and pistachios served with brioche and homemade jam; ceviche, carpaccio, focaccia, and more.

Pasta dishes include pesto and a cream sauce; bolognese; a healthy fare of whole-wheat pasta with olive oil, garlic, white wine, summer vegetables and ricotta; sweet potato ravioli with a parmesan butter sauce; and more.

The scrumptious main courses include schnitzel with tartar sauce and mashed potatoes; chicken livers sauteed with butter, cider, and red wine on mashed potatoes; lamb kebab topped with creamy eggplant and stir-fried seasonal vegetables; veal fillet; 300 g entrecote with a red wine sauce on wild rice and barley; a juicy salmon fillet baked in butter citrus on polenta and asparagus; and more.

Top off your meal with one of many sweet desserts such as sorbet, tiramisu, creme brulee, cheesecake with fruit, chocolate tart with vanilla ice cream, and more.

The morning menu is comprised of a rich selection of breakfasts, sandwiches, and pastries.
