The Khan Theatre presents "The Chinese Knife Sharpener," a Khan Theatre Jerusalem production written by Dani Horowitz in honor of Tel Aviv's 100th birthday. The play tells the story of a Tel Avivian teenager growing up during the Second World War: The mysteriousness of the far away war, the dreams of a fourteen year old, and the burning desire of any teenager: to put a mirror facing the sun and blow up the world. Horowitz has turned Nissim Aloni's "Owl" stories, full of magic and mystery, that gently describe the end of his childhood in the shadow the war, into a lyrical play, full of pain, longing, and love.
