The Confederation House presents the 13th International Oud Festival, which will take place in Jerusalem from November 8-17, 2012.

Abraham Ibn Ezra: Heart, Spirit and Soul (Opening Concert)

Thursday, 08 November 2012 21:00

The Madregot Ensemble hosts Ehud Banai, Shlomi Shaban, Shaanan Street, Lior Elmaliach and Albert Amar.

A tribute to the poet, philosopher, linguist and Bible commentator Rabbi Abraham Ben Meir Ibn Ezra, who lived during the Spanish Golden Age.

Ibn Ezra wrote secular poems, and poems of praise and friendship that highlight his wit and humor. This performance continues the series of Oud Festival programs devoted to the Golden Age in Spain. Last year's program was "Red Lips" by Berry Sakharof and Ra Mochiach, which was devoted to the poet Ibn Gabirol. With the performance comes the dedication of a CD presenting the interpretations of Ibn Ezra's works by the Madregot Ensemble and the guest artists.
