Songs and Music from Georgia: EgAri! - Shin Ensemble
Georgian instrumental music, folk dance and polyphonic song come together in a performance of the Shin (meaning: "the return home" in Georgian) ensemble. The group creates an unusual combination between archaic and modern, with jazz influences.
In the performance "EgAri!" (meaning: "that's it" in Georgian), Shin widens the boundaries of Georgian musical tradition, combining "ours" with what is perceived as "not ours." This, in a spirit of dialogue that has always characterized Georgian culture. The ensemble's musical quality carries each and every listener home, whether that home is near or thousands of kilometers away.
