The Israeli Opera and the Israel Festival present Verdi's La Traviata, a one time performance as part of the Israel Festival celebrating 25 years for the Israeli Opera, to be performed outdoors at Jerusalem's Sultan's Pool. The performance is produced by the Israeli Opera and the Israel Festival with the participation of lead opera singers from Israel and abroad, the Beit Ha-opera choir, the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, and the Broadcast Authority.
In honor of the 25th anniversary celebrations, the Opera and Israel Festival slashed ticket prices and the price of tickets is only 60-150 NIS.
The opera will be performed as a concert complete with costumes, and will be sung in Italian accompanied by Hebrew and English subtitles. Yishai Shtekler will conduct. La Traviata was the first opera to be performed in Israel eighty years ago and is one of the more well loved operas in the operatic repertoire.
