Jerusalem greets the Jewish new year with an extravaganza celebrating cultural and neighborhood renewal. The event will take place at various stations along Emek Refaim Street on Tuesday, September 10, 2012 from 17:00-23:00. The street will be closed for traffic, hosting a variety of activities and events including for the whole family including new year's greetings, street theater, sing alongs, Salon Shabazi, children's activities and performances, Jewish renewal activities, and more.


In honor of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish new year, the "Open Spirit" Jewish renewal arena will be set up on Emek Refaim 19.

17:00-20:00: "Everyone's Land": an interactive performance for children by Beit Midrash Elul using puppets which is an adaptation of a Talmudic story. Na'ama and Tip the dwarf invite children to attend a picnic in nature. The show lasts around 45 minutes and will be performed at 17:30 and 18:30.

20:00: Hyde Park greetings for the new year.

20:20: "It Begs an Explanation": playback theatre on the theme of Rosh Hashanah with exegetical stories and songs with actor Gadi Weisbert and the "What's the Story?" group.

21:30: Continuation of Hyde Park greetings for the new year.

21:45: "Opening your lips to speak": Arabel from "Bubizemer" and Agrol lead a sing along.

Street theater : stories and parties throughout the night

Living room on the Street: Salon Shabazi hosts Ramani Hamabul and a variety of Jerusalem bands

Family arena in the Beit Yehudit courtyard: inflatable bouncers, performances, and activities for children and the whole family.

Street jam: jam session with young bands, conservatorium students, Hasadna and the Yellow Submarine

The American Center hosts: The Eliav Family, Erez Zinger, and a Jewish-Arab ensemble.


Entrance to all events if free! Free parking at Gan Hapa'amon and the Old Train Station.
