Independence Day Eve: Central Jerusalem Celebrations:
19:45: The traditional transition from Yom Hazikaron (Rememberence Day) to Yom Ha'atzmaut (Independence Day) will take place on Har Hertzl with the lighting of the torches at 19:45 and ceremony thereafter. (By invitation only.)
21:00: There will be shows and performances on the main stage on the Hillel St. plaza from 21:00-1:00. Performers include Moshik Afia, Alma Zohar, Michael Greilsammer, Itzik Shemli, DJ Elad Emdi. Free entrance.
21:00 The cat's alley stage at the bottom of Nahalat Shiva will host a street party for students and youth, organized by Agudat Hastudentim and Tze'irim Bamerkaz. Events include a Funk party with DJ Uri Levi, Hebrew music party with DJ Ron Yizraeli, and a performance by funk band "Zvoov Im Groove." Entrance is free.
21:00-23:00: Sing along at Safra Square - an additional central stage will be set up at Safra Square, where there will be a sing along of Israeli songs with Ruchama Raz, Aharon Perera and Moti Zargari. Entrance is free.
23:00-3:00: Israeli folk dancing will take place in Safra Square with David Sabag, Mimi Kogan, Oded Yehoshua, Nurit Melamed, Haim Tzemach, and Gidi Iko. Entrance is free.
At 22:45 and 24:00 there will be fireworks above the Leonardo Plaza Hotel, sponsored by the hotel.
