The Mystorin Theatre Group, with the support of "Eden" Genesis, Jerusalem Foundation and Jerusalem municipality presents "Sea in Jerusalem": a multidisciplinary open air festival. The festival will take place on August 8-9, 2012 at the "Even Yisrael" plaza between Agripas and Jaffa St. in Jerusalem's City Center from 20:00-23:00 each evening. Entrance is free!

Photographers, sculptors, painters, designers, video and sound artists, actors, and dancers give their unique, contemporary take on the city of Jerusalem.

The festival will feature site specific performances of the Mystorin group and works by prominent artists, video and sound designers, photographers, painters and animation artists.

The audience will be surprised by video projections on buildings, sound installations in the narrow streets, monumental puppets and much more.

Uniquely designed performances will turn the quiet Nahlaot neighborhood into a fantastic world inspired by the image of water in Jewish texts that often symbolizes the Torah and is thus connected to the image of text and Hebrew letters.

In addition "Sea in Jerusalem" will showcase works by photographers Yulia Komissarof and David Dector, live sand animation by Olga Goltser, paintings by Yakov Feldman.

In the framework of the festival the Mystorin theatre group will show in Israel for the first time parts of "Baalei Shem" performance that premiered at Krakow's Main Square in Poland. On Thursday the 9th of August the festival "Sea in Jerusalem" will take place next to the "Retroshalaim" antique market.

The Mystorin Theater Group brings the beauty of ancient Hebrew texts to international audiences creating a unique theatrical poetry that can be understood by speakers of all languages. Through video, movement, singing and visual theater the performances of the Mystorin group reflect the narratives of Jewish texts and communicate with the audience both as a story and as a total visual experience with a strong emotional impact.

Similar to the many layers that can be found in ancient texts, every image can be interpreted in many ways, making the viewer into a collaborator in the interpretation of the performance's narrative.
The theatrical language of the group is inspired by visual art, creating images that are similar to drawing and sculpture in space.

Mystorin creates both indoor and outdoor performances and initiates special site specific projects, in unique sites in Israel and abroad. The group has performed at different festivals in Russia, Finland, Serbia, Romania, Armenia, Poland and Africa.
