Machol Shalem's "SHALEM Jewish Dance Festival 2009" will take place on December 28-31 at several venues in Jerusalem.
An annual event, the Shalem dance festival presents a collection of innovative dance works by local and international dance artists.
The 2009 festival is focused on creative and challenging collaboration between dance and new media.
The 2009 festival program includes:
- LessMess - Artist Residency Project. A co-production of Tanzhaus Zurich and Machol Shalem by Christina Gehrig Binder (Zurich), Sascha Engel (Tel-Aviv), Ruby Edelman (Jerusalem)
- ShuShu - guest work by choreographer Efrat Stempler (Berlin), combining video-art and physical theatre
- Crust - guest work by choreographer Esther Wrubel (Kopenhagen), combining video-art and physical theatre
