Around 15,000 residents are expected to run in the 2013 Winner Full Jerusalem Marathon which will take place for the third year in a row on March 1st. The marathon will include four running options: full marathon (42.195 km), half marathon (21.1 km), community run (4.2 km) and neighborhood run (800 meters), with monetary prizes for winners and runners up. The Jerusalem marathon is unique for its beauty and challenge due to hills. Throughout the course of the run, runners will pass Jerusalem's breathtaking and important historical landmarks, from the Knesset down the Old City and along the Old City Walls, Sultan's Pool, Mishkenot Sha'ananim, Mount Zion, the German Colony, Rechavia, the Armon Hanatziv Promenade, Ammunition Hill, Gan Sacher, Mount Scopus, Mount of Olives, and more.
There will also be accompanying events, including training events, a pre marathon pasta dinner for runners, and health and fitness expo. The health and fitness expo will take place at Binyanei HaUma from February 26-28.
