Beit Avi Chai presents "On Poetry and Immigration": Yossi Alfi tells stories and hosts poet Agi Mishol.

An evening with two individuals from different places who came to share the same story.

Agi Mishol immigrated to Israel from Transylvania at the age of three. Yossi Alfi also came to Israel at the age of three, in 1949, from Iraq. The Israeli identity of the two of them is a black box.

Agi's childhood in Gedera takes center stage in her book Bikkur Bayit (House call), while Yossi's childhood in Petah Tikva informs the poems in his book Teviot Etsba shel Ima (Mother's fingerprints) and pervades his stories to this day.
The two of them will relive their secret childhoods, re-experience being uprooted and moving from place to place, and tell the history of their parents, which permeates their lives and their poetry.

Music: Rami Harel, with singer Ronit Ophir

This is a Hebrew-language only event.
