Jerusalem Day 2013: Achinoam Nini, White Night, Shows, Tours and more


Jerusalem marks 46 years of reunification with three days of events for everyone from May 7-9, 2013.

Tuesday:

White Night in the Capital - Student Day in Sacher Park

On the Eve of Yom Yerushalayim we celebrate big time as we do each year Student Day and Jerusalem`s White Night in Sacher Park. The best artists give full performances on one stage; there are special attraction complexes and a highly attractive Sunrise Show.

Gates open at 21:15.

The leading artists in the country will perform in the evening: Michael Grailsummer, Red Band, Ehud and Eviatar Banai, Yehudit Ravitz, Ethnix and Infected Mushroom.

Food and drink stands and a lot of fun!

Event production: "Rashut Tzeirim" Jerusalem municipality, Hebrew University Student Union, David Yellin College, Bezalel and Hadassah College.

Student Yerushalmi card holders can buy tickets for 50 Nis only on the Mt. Scopus campus.


Tickets purchased through the site can be collected at the box-offices on the night of the event. Buyers with Student Card will be asked to present at in the ticket collection point.
Bringing food, beverage and weapons to the event is forbidden.

A national youth conference to mark 46 years to the unification of Jerusalem | 10:00-20:00


The national youth conference for the unification of Jerusalem will mark 46 years to the establishment of a breakthrough leadership. The conference will include a number of events that will take place in the city, from Nahlaot through to Armon HaNatziv, Giv`at HaTachmoshet Mt. Scopus and reaching Hinnom Valley.


12,000 young participants from all over the country will visit various sites across the city
and end the day in a youth assembly at 18:30 hr., in the Sultan`s Pool.


Program:
10:00 - arrival in Jerusalem.
10:00-16:00- visits and tours to city sites.
18:30-20:00 - holding a central youth rally attended by Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat, Education Ministry Director General Dalit Stauber, Director of Youth and Society Administration Erez Eshel, Director of "Shelach and Israel Geography" department Education Ministry Eli Shaish and with the participation of 7,000 youth at the Sultan`s Pool.

Mercaz Ha'rav yeshiva central rally
A large central gathering to mark Yom Yerushalayim at Mercaz Harav with the participation of the artists Mussa Berlin and Akiva Margaliyot. The event will take place in the presence of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu,Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat, public figures and a large crowd attending. At the end of the central gathering at Mercaz HaRav Yeshiva the traditional procession of the Yeshiva Students along Jerusalem and as far as the Western Wall will take place.

The Municipality of Jerusalem invites the inhabitants of the Capital and its visitors to celebrate Yom Yerushalayim in Safra Square.

Tours will begin at: 10:00, 12:00, 14:00 from the entrance to the square near the signpost "Meeting Point for tours in Kiryat Hairiya''.

Dance of the flags

Rikud HaDgalim (dance of the flags) Parade - prayer and Assembly at the Western Wall | 16:00 - 23:00


The parade is held every year on Yom Yerushalayim, beginning at 16:00. It is accompanied by dancing, singing, brandishing and waving Israel Flags and is produced by "Am CheLavi" Association. The number of marchers each year is tens of thousands who arrive from all over Israel and the world. The Dance of the Flags Parade ends at the Western Wall with a Ceremony, a Prayer and an assembly.

Jerusalem Syndrome

"Jerusalem Syndrome" Festival | 17:00


"Jerusalem Syndrome" Festival includes shows, artists, a street exhibition, a farmers` market and other cultural and artistic activities that will take place in Rehavia, KKL Street, in Beit Avichai and Yad Ben Zvi.

The Festival is for families, students and people young and old.


From 17:00 - as part of the street festival KKL street will be closed for traffic and will become a pedestrian street for a day. It will include:
- A Street Concert with "Har`el" 30 players Orchestra
- A singing along with Amir Schreiber - for families and adults
- Street Party with DJ Atzmon Avrahami
- Farmers` market, and artists along the street.


A multidisciplinary street exhibition in the "Gan Hacuzari" Park: Jerusalem's graduates of educational institutions will present a "Jerusalem Ambiance" exhibition, including video and plastic art displays and installations integrated in urban space and displayed on buildings, trees, benches, etc.

17:00-19:00 - storytelling for the whole family.
19:00-21:00 - Jerusalem Close Encounters - music and learning about things that really matter in the city.
21:00-23:00 - "Shirat Machar" band in a sing along concert of Israel songs.

There will also be, in addition, "Stories of Houses" - choreographed tours of historic places at the doorways of buildings, accompanied by actors, with stories big and small.

20:00; 21:30; - "Makom LaShira" - Israeli poets accompanied by musicians in a street show. Both events are accompanied by live music.

Shem Tov Levi and the Ensemble hosting Nurit Galron and Assaf Amdurski.
