Spoons

Spoons

Yemin Moshe, the picturesque neighborhood perched outside the walls of the Old City, has undergone quite a transformation over its (nearly) century-and-a-half without even changing appearance. Gone are the poor Sephardic families who were the neighborhood's original tenants, replaced by some of Jerusalem's wealthiest residents, a large percentage of whom hail from abroad and purchase Yemin Moshe's historic homes as summer residences.

And the neighborhood's culinary options reflect this gentrification, particularly at Spoons, a gourmet kosher l'mehadrin restaurant run, by reservation only for groups of six or more, out of the Yemin Moshe home of its founder and head chef Hila Solomon.

Spoons has no set menu, although the chef's specialty is European fare augmented by fresh local ingredients (some of which come from the restaurant's own garden); when a reservation is made, the entirety of your dinner from salad to dessert will be decided upon according to your party's preferences, encompassing both kosher meat and dairy options.
