Wolfson Museum - Heichal Shlomo
The monumental stone edifices looming at the far end of King George Street in downtown Jerusalem contain several sites of interest: the Great Synagogue and its Ten Commandments-themed architecture; the central offices of the Chief Rabbinate, a pseudo-governmental institution dedicated to certifying restaurants as kosher (and often making weddings expensive and difficult); and the Wolfson Museum.
Much like the Judaica section of the Israel Museum, only free, the Wolfson Museum packs a massive collection of antique and rare Jewish ritual artifacts from the entire span of Jewish history. Anybody particularly interested in observing the many minute variations on candlestick holders and Chanukah menorahs throughout the years should be more than pleased.
