The holiday Lailat al Miraj is one of the most important events in the Muslim calendar. Lailat al Miraj commemorates Mohammed’s Night Journey from Mecca to Jerusalem, his ascension into the seven heavens, and his return in the same night. It is because of Mohammed’s Night Journey that the Temple Mount in Jerusalem is holy to Islam.
