The Jerusalem flag has now broken Gupana's previous record by some 25,000 meters and has allowed Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat, Israel's President Shimon Peres and Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu to claim spots of their own in the Guinness Book as well.

Though the record-breaking aspect of the flag is helping to garner publicity, Ms. Gupana sees her work as much more than a quest for fame. "God is the architect of this flag and I am the contractor," she explains to GoJerusalem.com. "The vision and financing for the flag came from me and the people who sewed it were part of my foundation," the HalleluYAH PG Tower Foundation, a self-described messianic, prophetic global ministry.

According to Ms. Gupana, the flag was divinely inspired. "I did not choose Jerusalem. It was a revelation to me, it was a command. I heard a voice from God that said, 'Raise the banner, the standard of my people.' So I made the flag of Israel. But after I went home, I was meditating on the Prophet Isaiah, where it says, 'Jerusalem is my holy city.' So I understood that I had to make a lion.... [Although] not all people will agree with the flag of Israel, the flag of Jerusalem can be respected by all, any religion, any people, they all have their hearts in Jerusalem."

The flag, which is so large that when it was unfurled in Teddy, only the center could be shown because the actual flag is four times larger than the stadium, will be displayed at Masada over Succot before heading off for a world tour beginning in New York in late October.
