The ambitious Jerusalemite hipsters behind beloved indie bars Stardust and HaTaklit have broadened their attempts to enliven Jerusalem nightlife with a touch of the old-school yet again. HaCassetta (The Cassette), sister bar to HaTaklit (The Record), does for nostalgia for the tightly-spooled '80s musical medium of choice what its brother bar did for vinyl, its very walls lined with retro tapes. Fittingly, it's a small place too: a dozen cozy seats inside, about a dozen more outside. The music, as you might expect, runs from indie and New Wave to prog and '60s, analog nature very much underlined. The other star of the show is a generous selection of beer...and a vintage arcade machine. How, like, totally righteous.
Monday to Thursday, 20:00 to 4:00; Friday, 21:30 to 4:00; Saturday and Sunday, 20:00 to 4:00
