Beit Avi Chai presents "No Little Bird Shall Know"

• Wednesday, October 13, 8:30 PM
• Sunday, October 17, 8:30 PM

A lively comedy inspired by the book Zumer Lebn (Summer life), by Sholem Aleichem

Written and directed by Ori Egoz

Europe, 1911. Three Jewish women from Lodz-a society woman, a young flower seller who recently married a rich old man, and a poor grocer's wife-meet by chance in the prestigious Marienbad spa. As they splash in the springs and eat healthy meals, secrets are divulged that each of them has tried to hide.

"A superb play. Run to see it.... A fine experience of theater at its best ... High-quality writing as in the old days ... Extraordinary directing ... Outstanding actresses .... Polishness at its best!" (Habama website)

"Charming actresses ... Witty dialogue full of humor that turns the women's conversations into a message about the whole world ... A play with old-fashioned flavor!" (Tarbut website)

Original music: Yasmin Even / Acting: Betty Kushchi, Svetlana Falk, Hilla Fridman

After the play, psychologist Avner HaCohen will speak with playwright Ori Egoz about the connection between the personal world and the creative world, in view of the fact that the characters in her play bear the names of her relatives who were murdered in the Holocaust.

The play will be performed in P7.

The original play was produced with financial support from the Israel Festival 2009, Mifal Hapayis, and Beth Sholem Aleichem
