The Jerusalem Bird Observatory presents Urban Nature Conservation Week. Right as Tu Bishvat, the new year for trees, is celebrated in the Jewish calendar, the observatory invites you to participate in a week long lineup of events showcasing the natural treasures of Jerusalem.



5 - 10 February 2012


A series of activities around Jerusalem to celebrate Urban Nature Conservation Week.


The walks will be guided by staff of the Jerusalem Bird Observatory.

Coffee and birds at the Jerusalem Bird Observatory | 6/2/12 | 07:00

An early morning bird walk at the Bird Observatory and nearby Rose Garden as we search for wintering birds and spring flowers. The walk will include a visit to the ringing station.

Welcoming wildlife to your own backyard | 6/2/12 | 15:00

Learn all the little things that you can do in your own backyards to be welcoming to wildlife - at home, at school or at the office. Make a bird feeder that you can take home with you.


Flowers of the Gazelle Valley | 7/2/12 | 15:00


Join us for a walk in the Jerusalem Gazelle Valley. Search for gazelles, enjoy the spring flowers and learn about the plans for this unique park.


Exploring the Valley of the Cross | 9/2/12 | 15:00


From olive trees to kestrels, discover the rich diversity of wildlife and plants living in this beautiful valley.
