June 2012 at the Bloomfield Science Museum: Touching Water

The Bloomfield Science Museum invites children and their parents to learn about science in a simple and attractive way, through tours of the museum's exhibits and participation in scientific demonstrations, science performances, and building workshops.

How do you build a centrifugal fountain? How does water get to your tap at home? What causes our brains to fall for optical illusions? What invisible forces are at work in our world? Discover the answers to these questions throughout June 2012 at the Bloomfield Science Museum.

Throughout the month of June, the museum will host water activities. "Touching Water," is an exhibit with active displays which are positioned in pools of shallow water in the museum's courtyard alongside a trio of water themed exhibits in the museum: Water Sources, Water in Jerusalem, and Researching Water. The exhibits are accompanied by creative workshops where children can build a centrifugal fountain to take home as well as guided activities and demonstrations for the whole family, and unique tours just for adults (English language tours available).

Aditional museum activities in June 2012:

* Super Dr. Molecule: performance in the auditorium. A new, humorous, participatory performance by Dr. Molecule which exposes the audience to the hidden forces at work in our world. For children ages 4 and above. 20 NIS entrance fee.

* Innovation Ltd.: an exhibit which investigates the sources of technological and scientific innovation and creativity in Israel.

* Illusions: an exhibit which reveals the workings of the brain which cause us to fall for optical illusions.
