The Jerusalem Development Authority presents a Festival of Flavors in the Old City: A festival of food from diverse eras, cultures and traditions, from March 27-31, 2011, between 18:00 - 23:00.

Hundreds of flavors, cooked foods and aromas within the walls of the Old City of Jerusalem.

Enter through the Jaffa Gate and just like in legends, immerse yourself in the world of aromas and flavors, of traditions and beliefs.

For four consecutive nights the scents of culture and special dishes from all quarters of the Old City will emerge and fill its magical alleys with a gastronomical celebration.

Food markets from the time of the second Temple, a Byzantine market in the Cardo and traditional Jewish food from the 19th century, are only part of the unique gastronomical cultural surprises that the Old City will offer during this unique festival.

Restaurants in the city open their doors to guests with special menus and music, actors and storytellers, from gourmet meals to popular taverns with personal service provided by the local chef.

Culinary journies between restaurants and stories about food, quaint hidden settings where local dishes are made, including food tasting, the colorful markets in all their diversity and the aromas of spices from the East.

Workshops for adults and families - for special moments of cooking and baking and wine within the walls of the Old City.
And for the young at heart - a jazz bar on the walls of the Old City - music and drink into the wee hours of the night!
