All Souls Day is a holiday that commemorates the faithful deceased.
It is observed by Roman Catholic, Anglican, and some Protestant churches.
In Roman Catholic doctrine, All Souls Day is when it is customary to pray for souls of the departed who may not have been cleansed of all their sins, that they may at last be permitted to enter heaven.
