The Israel Museum presents a Kabuki Theatre Performance, in conjunction with the exhibition Crossplay: Male Actors, Female Roles in Kabuki Theatre.
Thursday, August 30 and Friday, August 31
Demonstration by Japanese actors Actors in female roles, dressed in elaborate, original costumes and wearing women's makeup, will demonstrate this unique theatre's
stylized performance, explaining the significance of the gestures and music accompanying it.
The event is jointly organized with the Japan Foundation and the Japanese Embassy, in celebration of 60 years of diplomatic relations between Israel and Japan.
