Yehoshua Sobol is undoubtedly one of the brightest and most provocative commentators on Jewish and Israeli culture. In the play The Night of the Twentieth, he artfully recreates the strange experiences of Hashomer Hatza'ir pioneers; in Soul of a Jew, he plumbs the depths of a self-hating Jew's perplexed soul; in Ghetto, he brings to the stage the impossible life in the Vilna ghetto. Samples of Yehoshua Sobol's fascinating and challenging works, featuring a rare appearance by the playwright himself.
