Hama'abada presents "After Death": A seven sketch fugue for three women.
The play's plot is based on a range of stories about Jacob-Israel, the man and symbol.
Only this time, his wives take the stand and talk about his death and their lives, here and now they are present. The play is structured as a fugue, with motives which return in changing musical and emotional tempo, word play, body positioning, spirit and soul emphasizing the uniqueness of each wife- by being together, but not united in grief.
At the Shiva ceremony which invites honesty along with grief, they don't worry about speaking their mind, exposing what they feel: hate, love, reservation.
