Tens of thousands of visitors are expected to celebrate Sukkot in
Jerusalem, and the municipality is ready with a great lineup of special
events in store. More information is available at the municipality
hotline: 106 (those calling from outside Jerusalem should dial
02-531-4600), or at the municipality's website: http://tour.jerusalem.muni.il.
Safra Sukkah
The Safra Sukkah, the largest Sukkah in the country (about 1,000 meters), will be open to the public over the intermediate days of Sukkot from September 18-26. All events at the Sukkah are free, and visitors are invited to bring food and eat in the Sukkah or just hang out. The theme of this year's Sukkah is light, and the Sukkah will be decorated with unique and innovative lights.
The Sukkah will be open all day. During the morning hours there will be no special activities. Activities and shows will take place from 17:00-23:00. On Saturday nights and on days that holidays end, the Sukkah will open at 20:30.
Sukkah events:
This year's events include workshops for kids and live performances by David Lavi, Shai Tsabari, Boaz Banai, and Hamadregot.
