Chanukah 2012 at the Bloomfield Science Museum
December 8-16, 2012 (In honor of Chanukah the museum will be open on Sundays, December 9 and 16.)
The Bloomfield Museum of Science invites families to celebrate Chanukah at the museum with pyrotechnic shows, encrypting workshops, experiential Turing test, Cube Circus performance, gallery talks, and more. The activities are appropriate from age 4 and up.
Activities include:
*Pyrotechnic demonstration and lighting a musical chanukiah.
*Encryption workshop for older kids and magic disappearing writing workshop for younger kids.
*Mirror calculator building workshop - build a mirror that helps you do multiplication, addition, and
more.
*Hocus Pocus Mathematics: an entertaining scientific demonstration - what's the connection between magic, magicians, and mathematics?
*Turing test: Are computers at least as intelligent as humans? Turing's questions will be opened to the audience to decide, as they view a computer go head to head with a human.
*The Train Theater's "Cube Circus" show will be shown daily in the auditorium for an additional 20 NIS per person.
*The new "Other Lives" exhibit will be open for viewing and two gallery talks for adults will take place:

December 13, 21:30-23:00: "Alan Turing: the man that dreamed about thinking machines" with Natan Zeldes
