Colony presents a World Music Winter Concert series: a celebration of world music, fine food and beverages from around the world.
Thursday February 17, 2011 at 22:45: Sambadobom - Live Brazilian Music. Sambadobom performs an exhilarating live show at Colony. Sambadobom is a four piece ensemble that has been playing music together since 2008. The success of their first show at Mazal Aryeh 5 in Jaffa transformed the band and the venue into a meeting place for Brazilians and Israelis that come once a week to hear and dance to the sounds of excellent Brazilian music. In just a short while the band had performed over 100 shows all over Israel, including an opening performance for a concert of the Philharmonic Orchestra in Tel Aviv's Cultural Stadium. Sambadobom recently returned from a large tour in Brazil, where they appeared as guests of the Israeli consulate. Their repertoire includes Brazilian folk music in several styles such as samba, poho, choro, bossa nova, and more. Audience members are in for a unique musical treat!
