Colony presents a World Music Winter Concert series: a celebration of world music, fine food and beverages from around the world.
Thursday, January 6, 2011 at 22:45: Yolky Folky plays an upbeat, rhythmic show of Balkan, Irish, and Gypsy music. Yolky Folky is a Jerusalemite ensemble that has been delighting fans in Israel and abroad for six years. Each one of the six members has a different kind of musical background which comes to light in the ensemble's performances together. The audeince plays an important, active part in Yolky Folky's performances, complementing the music with dancing and rhythmic applause.

Thursday, January 13, 2011: Terra Rossa Ensemble - From East
to West. This Jerusalemite ensemble performs a colorful and exciting
live show of sounds and cultures from the East to the West. The members
of the ensemble came to know each other over years of musical encounters
in Jerusalem and its environs, and this process was the inspiration
behind the band's name - Terra Rossa - the red earth that is found in
the Jerusalem hills. All of their music is composed by Yishai Ben Yaakov
and the ensemble. Their unique sound stems from a refreshing fusion of a
variety of cultures from the East and West, including the instruments
they use and the musical style and rhythms. Terra Rossa's music aims at
creating dialogue between the various cultures from which the ensemble
members originate and trying to find the one truth that unites them all.
