The Bloomfield Science Museum marks the end of the International Year of Chemistry with a week of Chanukah events on the theme of molecular cooking, including chemistry knowledge in the kitchen and innovative cooking methods.

Live Molecular Cooking Demonstration: Chef Gai Bensimon (of the "Pink" restaurant in Jerusalem) will prepare molecular foods in front of the audience, such as lollypops made from dozens of layers of flavor crystals. Children will be able to choose the flavor: mango, melon, chocolate, nougat, and more. The candies will be dipped in liquid nitrogen and then given to children to eat. Bensimon will offer a 15% discount at Pink to guests who display a Bloomfield Museum entrance ticket stub on Chanukah between 18:00-21:00.

Molecular Cooking Show: a humorous virtuoso performance for the whole family with chef Dr. Sarhiv Bervido, an expert in molecular biology who fuses science and cooking and demonstrates, along with his young daughter, special culinary effects created by the mixing of mysterious powders with familiar raw materials. Effects demonstrated in the show include melon flavored caviar, tomato and olive oil flavored popcorn, and aerated chocolate. Entrance is 15 NIS in addition to the museum admission fee. The show will not take place on Monday, December 25.

Molecular cooking workshop
for young children: make "caviar" out of jello and take it home as a sweet souvenir.

Scientific demonstrations: cooking and chemistry in the kitchen, led by museum staff with audience participation.

Crystals demonstration: in honor of Professor Dan Shechtman, winner of the Nobel Prize in chemistry

Crystal workshop for young children: grow crystals and take them home.

Static electricity demonstration: using a Van de Graaff machine.

Guided tours of the "Innovation Ltd." Exhibit and the "Flashlight in the Dark" exhibit.

TWISTY: A conversation with TWISTY, a virtual personality that will make you think twice about your previous perceptions of women and science.
