Off the Wall Comedy Basement presents "Strength from the Undertow": An Evening of Cabaret with Sarah "BlonDDi" Fortman.
She has been studying voice in the styles of cantorial music,
opera, and musical theatre since she was eight years old and in recent
years has added her love of jazz and rock to her repetoire. Right now,
Sarah is studying at the WUJS-Arts program in Jerusalem, and can be
found most Tuesday nights performing at Off the Wall's Open Mic Nite.
Not sure about what her future holds just yet, but she is certain that
music and the rest of the arts will play a major role in whatever is to
come.
The title "Strength from the Undertow" is inspired by life
and the many challenges she throws our way daily. The determination and
will to overcome these obstacles, choosing to grow and progress into
more evolved people from seemingly negative experiences and instead
looking at them as positive potential growing experiences is the way
Sarah has always chosen to live her life. Throughout the show, this is
the common theme among the music you will hear: "strength from
positivity." As the water seems to rush over you, dragging you down,
you instead choose to focus on the current as it lifts you up for air,
finding the strength in your arms to carry you to shore.
