"For Thee Jerusalem"
Jerusalem hityashvut salutes the capital city with a march and celebration in the nation's capital.
On Monday, May 30, 2011 at 17:00, you are invited to join thousands of marchers in a festive parade around the city and events taking place at Gan Sacher (Park) and Independence Park.
Singers to perform include: Shlomi Shabat, Avraham Tal, Idan Amdi
Over 20,000 marchers and participants from 53 regional councils are expected to take part in a huge parade with floats, bands, drum circles, and more.
The event will take place two days before Yom Yerushalayim (Jerusalem Day) and will kick off in Independence Park with Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat along with the following dignitaries:
President Shimon Peres, Minister of Education and Gideon Saar, Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz, and Minister of Agriculture Orit Noked.
Morning: Free public tours of the Yad Ben Zvi Institute of Judaic-Arabic Studies, register in advance.
17:00: Gathering at Independence Park with Mayor Nir Barkat, ministers and dignitaries.
17:30: Processional through the streets of Jerusalem to Gan Sacher
19:00-22:00 Musical performances with Shlomi Shabat, Avraham Tal, Idan Amdi
22:30 Fireworks show
