Yaldat Hapa'amon - A musical play inspired by an old Chinese legend.

By: Nava Semel
Music: Ben Artzi
Director: Yael Tilman
A co production between Mediatheque Holon and Beit Lessin Theatre

Yaldat Hapamon was inspired by an ancient Chinese legend that is passed on from one generation to the next. The Israeli Ambassador to China tells this tale to his daughter, Connie, while they are flying from Tel Aviv to Beijing. Connie does not want to move to China, and her father gives her a small gong to introduce her to Chinese culture. The gong is transformed into the book from which Connie's father reads her the legend in the course of the flight.

This play centers on the quest for the origin of the gong's sound, and explores the source of music. It was first presented at the 2011 Theater Festival at the Beit Lessin Theater. It was read in the competition section of the Festival, and was awarded prizes for the play and music.

The play will premier at the Israel Festival as a full staged production.

Duration of Performance: 50 minutes, without intermission

Price: 80 NIS
