Just Before Nightfall: Thursday Evenings in November 2012 at the Tower of David Museum


The Tower of David Museum presents "Just Before Nightfall" in November 2012: a visit to the Tower of David Museum combined with a musical performance under the stars, amongst archaeological remnants and a cultured garden, in the magical evening atmosphere.


The museum will extend its opening hours on Thursdays, staying open from 10:00-18:00. "Just Before Nightfall" events will take place from 16:30-18:00. In the main plaza, near the coffee shop, ensembles will play world music

All events are included in museum entrance fee (15-30 NIS).


Events take place in cooperation with the Jerusalem Development Authority's "Old City Nights" program.


November 1, 2012: Shufra - with Talia Taron (piano and vocals) Ben Peretz (saxophone), Asher Perel (percussion), and Menachem Valet (contrabass) playing songs reminiscent of times gone by, world music and jazz in new and surprising arrangements.


November 8, 2012: Djourne Ensemble: Liron Myuchas and DJ Dabadi (Eitan Hassid) will sweep the audience away on a musical journey of the body and soul with records as well as live instruments in groovy rhythms and heavenly sounds.

November 15, 2012: Ira Klein Quintet: The Ira Klein Quintet: Original instrumental music, both composed and improvised, defined and abstract, with diverse influences including modern jazz and easy listening. Ira Klein with Roi Ben Yosef (drums), Gal Shaya (bass), Milton Michaeli (piano), Arik Levi (Saxophones)

November 22, 2012: Hagar Dagan on flute with the members of "Trio Mikan", playing melodies of Hebrew songs and improvisations with a touch of jazz.

November 29: Francois - Paris-Jazz: the French-Israeli singer. French romantics meet Jazz romantics in a musical encounter. Francois sings all-time favorites from a variety of musical styles - jazz, funk, Latino, Blues, and French music. With Orel Oshrat (piano), Alon Stern (double bass) and Oved Pinchover (saxophone)
