Born in Brno, Moravia, in 1894, Anna Ticho lived and studied art in Vienna until 1912, when she immigrated to Palestine. During her childhood and adolescence in Vienna, the city was the focus of intense artistic activity, making it a major European cultural center. Anna's Vienna explores the visual and material culture to which Ticho was exposed during this impressionable time in her life - from the 19th-century Beidermeier furniture and ornate silverware typical of wealthy homes of the time to works by artists of the Vienna Secession, the 1908 Kunstschau, and the Wiener Werkst
