Sixty artists display one hundred portraits of woman photographed by the "Women Photograph" group at the Jerusalem's Theatre's "Blessed be He Who Made a Woman" exhibit, on display from July 26 through the beginning of September. The exhibit, curated by Noga Arad-Eilon, seeks to offer an artistic response to the recent issue of women's exclusion from the public sphere with the clear message: We are here. We are real. We exist.
The photos displayed cross the barriers of age, nationality, and social and religious status and attempt to touch the authentic female presence here in Israel in 2012. They include a wide variety of internal and external situations, moods, difficult moments and elated moments, introvert and extrovert personalities. Among the images are explanatory texts written by the artists that echo their emotional and artistic journeys.
Opens: July 26, 2012 at 19:00 at the Jerusalem Theatre.
Opening hours: Sunday-Thursday 15:30-21:30, Friday: 12:00-15:00, Saturday: from the end of the Sabbath until 21:30 and during performances
