The Dweck Gallery at Mishkenot Sha'ananim presents Ruth Agassi: Intentional Randomness - a photography exhibit. Curator: Irina Gordon.
In the exhibit, Agassi explores the intentional and necessary decision that must be made when taking a photograph of what to include and what to omit, and makes this characteristic of photography central to her work. Her photographs are a collection of a wide variety of images: places which have personal histories, travel diaries, and frames from television documentaries. The images range from photographs that portray beauty and harmony to those that evoke fear and horror. Through these images a reality arises and a narrative is built, which may look random at first, but upon deeper examination a connection between everything is apparent on the aesthetic and emotional level.
