In honor of Tu Bishvat, the Bible Lands Museum presents a special Tu Bishvat themed tour. The tour brings visitors back to the green past, to the days in which plants, trees, and fruits were an inseperable part of human life. The tour features fruits of the earth and trees found in the museum's displays: on ancient Israeli coins, on Egyptian burial objects, in Roman sculptures, on mosaics, and more. On the tour, visitors will find out what the importance of plants and tress were in ancient cultures, which trees stood out in the ancient eastern landscape, and what the meaning and symbolism of the plant world was in ancient times and Jewish tradition.
No advance registration is required. The tour is free with museum admission.
Sunday to Tuesday, Thursday 9:30 to 17:30; Wednesday, 9:30 to 21:30; Friday and Holiday eves, 9:30 to 14:00. During the months of July and August, the museum will be open seven days a week.
