The exhibit will take place at the Dwek Gallery, Mishkenot Sha'ananim.

On Monday, November 22nd at 19:30 in the Mishkenot Sha'ananim Auditorium there will be a symposium on the subject "Inside The Jerusalem Studio School."

About the exhibit:

Katan offers a rare glimpse into the world of The Jerusalem Studio School. Over the last 12 years, the Jerusalem Studio School has trained some of the finest painters in the world. Today "Katan" gives the public a chance to observe the creative process of these artists up close by looking at these jewel-like works. Tradition, observation, figuration and abstraction all play a role in making up this rich selection of small-format works.

Like the student body of The Jerusalem Studio School, "Katan" draws on artists from all around the world spanning the years from 1998 up to the present. Included in the show are works by Israel Hershberg, founder and artistic director of The JSS, along with the current teaching staff of the school: Eldar Farber, Sigal Tsabari, Sharon Etgar, Ariel Berlatzky and Amir Rubin - all of whom studied at The JSS. Alongside these are works by The JSS International Visiting Faculty: Stuart Shils, Ken Kewley, Sangram Majumdar. Rounding out the exhibition are works by other JSS graduates from over the years including Victor Man, Rita Natarova and Yedidya Hershberg.
