The Jerusalem Center for Design presents Jerusalem Design Week, from December 4-9, 2011. Following last year's Design Week success, the center has decided to expand the initiative, and this year's Design Week will include an international design conference, design exhibitions, artists' workshops, a designers fair, design in film, and more.


Design week events and exhibitions:


Events:


December 4, 2011: Opening Event - opening of the exhibits "Zman 02.1:
Kadachat Asiya," and "Mechabrim, Kisa'ot Chif, Laminatatzia, Ve-ilturim." 19:30 | Hansen Center


December 5, 2011: Opening of the exhibit "Vehachemar Haya Lachem Lechomer."
20:00 | Jaffa23


December 6, 2011: Design in Film:
Screening of the film "Footnote" and discussion with the film's creators about design characteristics in the film. 19:30 | Cinematheque


December 7, 2011: Master Class and concert
- 40 participants, 3 moderators, 43 musical instruments-methods of developing creativity through music. Master Class from 10:00-16:30, advance registration required. Concert at 19:30, open to the public. At the Hansen Center.


December 8, 2011: International Design Conference
-discussions on collapse and advancement. 9:30 | Jerusalem Theatre


December 9, 2011: Design workshops
for the whole family, at the "Design in the City" center. At the Bezalel 7 gallery.



Exhibits:


1. Zman 02.1-Kadachat Asiya. Curator: Tal Gur. Gallery talk: December 5 at 18:30 at the Hansen Center.


2. Mechabrim, Kisaot Chif, Laminatzia Veilturim
(Connecting, "chif" chairs, lamination, and improvisation): by students of
Hadassah Colleges' Design department. Curator: Kenny Segal. Gallery talk: December 5, 17:30, at the Hansen Center.


3. Vehachemar Haya Lahem Lechomer
(and the clay became material for them): By students of the Bezalel Academy for Art and Design. Curators: Eran Erlich, Lana Dubinsky. At Jaffa23.


4. Tarbut Aklim
(Atmospheric Culture): By students of the Bezalel Academy for Art and Design. The series is based on a series of exhibits curated by Alfonse Houg. At Jaffa23.


5. Design in the City:
the designers will display the process of design and creation and will sell their work. At Bezalel 7.
