Good Deed Day will take place this year on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 from 9:30-18:30.
Good Deed Day includes 41 projects to fix up apartment stairwells, entrance ways, streets, community gardens, public parks, and open spaces in Jerusalem. The flagship project will be renovations on Stern Street. Jerusalem mayor Nir Barkat is to participate in the Stern Street project at 11:00. A musical event will take place at the Gonenim community garden. Arab and Haredi neighborhoods are also set to participate in the project. A community celebration will take place between 16:30-18:30 in Messilah Park, including recycling workshops, information sessions,and demonstrations.
Over 5,500 volunteers, of them about 1,000 soldiers have already signed up to take part in Good Deed Day activities.
