The JSS Studio Program offers instruction in painting and drawing to the public of all ages, with no prior experience required. Students are welcome to enroll throughout the year.

2010 Workshop: Young Adults Course

For children and young adults ages 10 to 16 with teacher Sigal Tsabari. Participants will learn drawing and painting from observation and will be exposed to different mediums, including pencil, oil paint, monotype, collage, photography, landscape painting in the Jerusalem Biblical Zoo, and sculpting in clay (with sculptor Noah Hineh). The course will include still life, portraiture, a tour and gallery talk in Tel Aviv and the hall of casts gallery at the JSS. The course runs Sunday to Friday from 8:00 to 13:00, from July 4 - 15, 2010. Breakfast is included.

2010 Workshop: The Old City Landscape

Instructor Amir Rubin introduces students to painting and composition using charcoal and oils, all from various locations overlooking the Old City. The program is a journey along the thin line between abstract painting and chaos. The course runs 9 weeks, from July 4th through August 26, 2010

The full program, running 1,300 NIS, includes 16 meetings in total, on Sundays and Thursdays from 3:30 to 7:30 PM (until sunset). The part time program, at 850 NIS, meets eight times, once a week (Sundays or Thursdays).

2010 Workshop: Live Model Oil Painting

Under the tutelage of instructor Ariel Berlatsky, students will paint from live nude models in continuous long poses. In this way, students will have the opportunity to explore issues in drawing geometry, tone and color, deepening their understanding of the human figure and painting. The course runs on Fridays from 9:00 to 13:00. Students can register for a whole course of 9 classes or a partial course of 5 classes.
