Jerusalem Hostels

Jerusalem's hostels are found in various locations across the city; from the center to the south, toward the north and also in East Jerusalem. Just as one would expect from a hostel, there are many fewer frills than the more exclusive hotels though this does not detract from their obvious charms. The Abraham Hostel for example is situated in the heart of Jerusalem, fantastically served by numerous bus-routes and the also the impressive light-rail.

With Mahane Yehuda, Ben Yehuda Street with its plethora of restaurants and also its proximity to clubs and bars, the Abraham is an ideal location to navigate the city. The Petra Hostel is located just inside the Jaffa Gate, offering the intrepid explorer a comfortable base from which to discover the Old City in particular, but other parts of Jerusalem as well. It's rooms are mostly for sharing, though there are some single and family rooms available. The key selling point is the rooftop patio which provides outstanding views of the Old City and the hills of

Jerusalem beyond. To the south one finds the Beit Ben Yehuda hostel. Located in the suburb of Talpiyot, it's by no means centrally located, but it is an area that is excellently serviced by the bus system. It's located a walkable distance from the historic Ramat Rachel Kibbutz and is very close to the Beit Lechem and Hebron roads, which lead to the two places of antiquity that bear their names.
