Bema'aglei Tzedek (Circles of Justice), which aims to promote social justice and equality in Israel, is perhaps best known for its Tav Chevrati (Social Seal) program. Much like the certification seals which many restaurants obtain for meeting kashrut standards, the Social Seal is awarded to restaurants which treat their workers fairly and provide suitable handicapped accessibility, meeting the needs of the disabled with initiatives including ramps, large bathrooms, and wherever possible, Braille menus. The Social Seal is also awarded to other businesses which meet these standards. Restaurants which hold the seal have a special sticker with the Seal’s logo – usually pasted on the door or somewhere near the entrance. If you don’t see it, just ask. There are over fifty restaurants in Jerusalem which hold the Social Seal, catering to a wide variety of tastes and budgets.
