Summer at the Tower of David: "All the Citadel's a stage..." -- Activities for the Whole Family!
Monday - Thursday, August 5-15 | 10:00 am -4:00 pm
The Tower of David's August program consists of different activity stations taking place throughout the day. Visitors are invited to take part in all the activities.
At the center of the fun is a very special play "A Little Man in a Big City" that tells the story of the city and the search for the real people who built it - are they the well-known figures in the history books or the actual people who lived in Jerusalem all their lives? The characters will meet with the audience in a variety of amusing and exciting situations and try to persuade us of their importance to the very existence of the city.
Different workshops will be held all day long. "Building the Citadel" is inspired by the book "A Street in Jerusalem", and a design workshop draws inspiration from the new exhibitions at the Museum**. Courtyard activities include building a citadel with giant building blocks, large floor games and a dress up corner. There will be a special children's exhibition of the original illustrations for the book, "A Street in Jerusalem" and children are invited to join a huge poster coloring activity.
Visitors can enjoy an independent tour of the museum with a free family friendly activity book. We recommend concluding the day with the extraordinary Night Spectacular - a unique light and sound experience projected onto the walls of the Citadel.
Please note: Activities are geared for children ages 5-10.
